What people ask us most, answered plainly.

What is Syllabra?

Syllabra is a free education grant information website from The Nelson M Group LLC. It explains the basics in plain language.

Is Syllabra a school, grant program or lender?

No. We do not award grants, offer loans or take applications, and nothing here is financial, legal or admissions advice.

Will you tell me how much aid I will get?

No. Each program sets its own rules, deadlines and amounts, and only the program or your school can tell you what you are offered. We explain how the pieces usually work so you can ask better questions.

Will you apply for me or match me with programs?

No. We do not fill in forms for anyone, and we do not recommend, rank or match you with schools or programs.

Can I print the checklists?

Yes. Each checklist page prints cleanly on letter-size paper.

Should I send you my documents?

No. Never send us tax returns, Social Security numbers or other documents. The checklists are for your own use.

Do you share my details with schools or lenders?

No. We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with schools, lenders, scholarship services, lead buyers or other partners. Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect and how it is used.

What do I get when I sign up?

Plain-language information on the topic you choose, by email if you give one. If you opt in to texts, you also get short texts pointing to the same guides.

Do I have to give a phone number, email or ZIP code?

No. Your email address, mobile number and ZIP code are all optional. A first name, a last name, your topic and the privacy agreement are all we need.

Do I have to agree to texts?

No. Texts are optional, with two separate unchecked boxes. You can sign up without ticking either one.

How often will you text me?

Message frequency varies, up to about 8 a month. Msg & data rates may apply.

How do I stop texts?

Reply STOP to any text. Reply HELP for help. You can also email [email protected].

How do I stop emails or delete my information?

Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to [email protected].

Is this where I apply for aid?

No. Applications go through the official channel, such as the FAFSA at StudentAid.gov, your state higher-education agency, or your school’s financial aid office.
